This Privacy Policy explains how Magicowls Ltd(“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information when you use Check My Website at check-my.website(the “Service”). We are a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17182683).

Information we collect

• URLs you submit. The website address you ask us to audit, and any options you choose (such as the number of pages to crawl).
• Audit results. Publicly available technical information gathered from the website you audit (such as page metadata, response headers, structured data and cookies set by that site), which we compile into a report.
• Technical and usage data. Standard server information such as your IP address, browser type, and request timestamps, recorded in our logs to operate and secure the Service.

We do not require an account and do not ask you for personal information beyond the above. Please do not submit URLs that contain personal data or secrets in the address (for example, tokens or query strings), as these are stored as part of the audit.

Audit reports are accessible by link

Each completed audit is stored and made available at a unique report link. Anyone with that link can view the report. Do not share report links containing information you wish to keep private.

Cookies

The Service uses only the cookies strictly necessary to operate the site. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. (Our crawler may record cookies set by the third-party site you choose to audit, solely to report on them.)

Feedback widget

We use feedbakkr(operated by Magicowls Ltd) to collect feedback on this site. When you open the feedback widget and submit a comment, the following is shared with feedbakkr so they can deliver and triage the feedback on our behalf: your comment, any screenshot you choose to capture, the page you were on, basic browser / device / viewport details, your IP address, and — only if you choose to verify your email — the name and email you provide.

feedbakkr acts as our processor under a written Data Processing Agreement. Their privacy notice is at feedbakkr.io/privacy and the DPA is at feedbakkr.io/dpa.

How we use your information

• To run the audit you request and generate, store and display the report.
• To operate, secure, maintain and improve the Service.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

Our lawful bases under the UK GDPR are our legitimate interests in providing and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service (for example, hosting and infrastructure providers acting as our processors), and where required by law.

Retention

We keep audit reports and associated data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete or anonymise them. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics. You can ask us to delete a report at any time using the contact details below.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security & international transfers

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. Where data is processed outside the UK/EEA by our providers, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
